April: Show and Tell and Sharon Bottle Souva

Tracy Jachimowicz filled in for most of the board at the April meeting.  She made jokes about it, but she did a great job!
We missed a picture of all the great Community Service quilts finished by a group who went to member Irene Bow's house.  They plan to continue working as a group.  (Details in the newsletter?)

The show and tell was as always a treat for the eyes.
Mary  Ellen Casey's ArtCGirlz group project

Mary Ellen Casey used scraps to make this, from a pattern called "Go with the Flow"

Cheryl Doody fussy cut fabric from a challenge in the Brockport group

Nancy Schrader's sweet Easter runner

Nancy Schrader made this for herself after making one as a gift

Julie Brandon and Val Schultz returned the fabrics made from the "collaboration" program to the volunteers who drew the pictures!  What surprising- and awesome!- results!!!
Sorry I missed who each belongs to.

I think this is Kathy Belluscio's piece

Lorraine West, back from Florida with her usual bag of goodies.

A sweet coupon wallet

Sharon Bottle Souva had two new pieces, which weren't part of her lecture, so she joined in for Show and Tell!

The piece on the left is the only fiber art in a show at St David Celebration of the Arts exhibit.

Ann Renica said the Community Service work day is her favorite meeting of the year!
Ann quilted this panel quilt

Using scraps from the Community service stash and her favorite pattern

Another fabulously simple quilt from Ann

Donna Tomski made this little pincushion, which clamps to a table

Another Thimbleberries BOM Donna finished

Mary Anne Watson is working on these for the VA

Martha's ArtCGirlz project, the "shuttlecraft" purse

Our guest speaker, Sharon Bottle Souva, shared her quilting story and some of her writings, along with these beautiful quilts!

One of Sharon's small landscape pieces
After the meeting, a small but lucky group of members made Landscape collages in a class.
First we painted dryer sheets and played with art tissue

Don't the tissues look pretty hanging up to dry?

Melanie couldn't help but laugh at this: perfectly opposite work styles!

Kathi's original and collage(on the left)

Tracy's original and collage below

Finished collages by the whole class
Hopefully you will get to see them all up close next month!
