April meeting and the BC Woolery

Kathi Everett started off show and tell by showing us where her "Ice Crystals" quilt can be found in the book, 1,000 Quilt Inspirations.

Congratulations Kathi!

Kathi started this piece for the "Best Blooms" challenge, but there just wasn't a place for the required fabric.

This image, and those below, were made with digital photography and printed by member Julie Brandon at Red Dog Enterprises.

This is Kathi's granddaughter, Mela

This one was a paper collage Kathi made and enhanced with an app on her phone.

Rosine Wloch made this beautiful autumn stars quilt as a wedding gift for her son.  It was quilted by member Cathy Schmeider.

Mary Ellen Casey made a Transformers quilt for her grandson to snuggle with.

There were blocks left over, so she made this one for Community Service.

Shirley Lapp traded Pat Gardner this great tote bag...

In exchange for the quilting on this quilt we  saw Pat working on at retreat.  They both got a really good deal!

Cathy Judkins took a workshop on a new embroidery machine at Creekside Fabrics and made this iPad case.

Nancy Schrader has a son with connections to upholstery fabrics, and Nancy got some new pillows!

After she got this bird pillow done, Nancy found she had a vintage kitchen towel with the same pattern on it!

This fabric collage is a new valance.

Nancy got this project at the flea market- and said thanks to who ever sold it!

A friend of Nancy's, who was denying it was her birthday, got this zipper bag as a gift.

Donna Tomski made this scrappy "Arkansas Crossroads" quilt as a gift, from the book below.  She likes it so well, she plans to make another one.

Donna took a collection of Community Service blocks home and pieced this quilt.
It just looks like spring!

Donna started this sweet little wall quilt at retreat.

Cheryl Doody used her "pipeless piping" technique to bind this quilt.  The block was designed by Karen Kay Buckley.

Cheryl made this to donate to the SPCA to raffle as a fundraiser.

Mary Kozub is almost finished with her second quilt made from her grandparents' wedding picture, taken in 1929.  (The first was in our 2012 quilt show)
Once the binding is on it will go right up on the wall!

Ann Renica made this quilt for a niece's baby shower.

Nancy Ellers brought her copy of Cheryl Doody's book to have it autographed.

After the break, Susan Ralyea, of the BC Woolery shared all you ever wanted to know about working with wool, sharing many of her beautiful projects with us.

Members are invited to bring their "Tips and Notions" to the may meeting and share with fellow quilters!

May is the last month for members only to sign up for the Paula Nadelstern classes.  Contact Martha for more information.
