Excellent Show and Tell in February!

The meeting began with a bit of confusion and adjustment due to some maintenance being undertaken, causing a temporary outage of electricity and no elevator to the auditorium.  For a while, we thought we'd have to use our cell phone flashlights to see!

But the lights came on and, except for the lack of a sound system, all was well!  One advantage to being downstairs is it's warmer.  (maybe too warm for those of us who enjoy frequent "personal summers")

Connie Grimsley accepted a facebook challenge to make Kathi  an art piece about a year ago.  And finally finished it.

Nancy Ellers added some wallpaper and flooring to her embroidery to finish this little redwork piece.

A beautiful modern quilt using some "ugly" fabric Nancy had in her stash.

Tracy made a bowl full of little wool hearts while riding in the car on a long trip

"Kissing fish" baby quilt, machine quilted by Patty Cline

Connie did some work with curves to make this little piece....

...and this piece, which was a gift for Vinnie's birthday.

The "ArtCGirlz" showing off the pins they made at their February meeting.

Susan used her Laurel Burch sweatshirt as the inspiration for this quilt.

On a trip to Hawaii to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Susan never saw sea turtles, so she made some!

Mary Lowe made these two yellow and grey baby quilts for a friend, who has now decided on different colors for the nursery.

Donna Tomski is ready for Halloween already.  Machine quilted by Debbie Kenney

John Roll started out using a Joen Wolfram pattern, but didn't like how it looked, so he changed it around a bit.

Mary Kozub is also ready for autumn with these two gorgeous table toppers.

Mary Ellen Ames has finished her batik Judy Neimeyer quilt.

Quiltmaker is doing a year of small projects, which Lorraine West is following.  This month it's bowtie blocks.

They did Hexies and made a small snap purse

And sweet little quilt with large hexies.

 A mug rug Lorriane made.

Trudy Kutter used a tutorial she found online to do the binding on these baby quilts.
You can find it on

Cheryl Doody started this piece in a class at Clarence with Karen Kay Buckley.  She adapted the borders from an old pattern.

Ann Renica's love affair with orange continues...

Martha was taking pictures, so these are from her blog.

Balls made using Jinny Beyer's book: Patchwork Puzzle Balls

Self binding receiving blankets, made with instructions found here.

Martha is preparing for the arrival of her first grandchild ( a boy) in May.

March is our annual Community Service work day.  If you plan to stay and help, contact Connie Grimsley or Vinnie Tjhung to see where they might need help or supplies.  Remember to bring your lunch!
