Marching along

There was a lot to see and do at the March meeting.
The fabric sale from a large donation continues to be successful- both in helping to reduce the amount of items stored in a members garage, and in adding to the guild's treasury!  Many thanks to Elaine and Jean and their helpers for organizing and setting up every month!

Our Speaker this month was Irene Henion of Irene's Fabric Creations.  She's a certified Deb Tucker ruler instructor, pattern tester, and she works with Tara Thom at Town and Country quilt shop in Albion.  I was helping hold her quilts, so didn't get pictures.  If anyone sends me some, I'll add them to this post.

And, of course, there's always show and tell to enjoy!

Martha made these table runners using kits she bought at The Quilter's daughter in perry Center.
The autumn one(This picture refused to rotate!!!) will be in the silent auction in October.
Martha was happy to finish the easter one in time to use this year!

Nancy Schrader shared this tp she pieced at a retreat last month, looking for suggestions on how to quilt it.

Liz Scott made this for a neighbor's daughter, who is graduating this spring.

Elaine Lemley bought the patterns for the barns from a member using the flea market tables, and added to it to make this queen sized quilt for her own bed.

Eline was given the Baltimore Bride blocks by Nancy Ellers who picked them up from the free table at another guild, and thought of Elaine.  The wool appliqué was all done by machine quilt-as-you- go style.
Mary Ellen Casey rescued this old top from the trash after is was donated to another quilting group she works with.  She tied and bound it and will gift it to a freind.

Mary Ellen made this beautiful Celtic design quilt for her granddaughter, who will graduate soon, and is a master Irish dancer.

Carol Farkas made this beautiful quilt to donate to a fundraiser. (I had camera trouble and missed the whole story- sorry Carol!)

In April we'll be hearing from Charlotte Hawkes with a trunk show of scrap quilts and some advice on using scraps!!
