Brown bag challenges revealed!

The December meeting was fun for all, and not just because the food was so good!  (but as always, the food was so good  people were groaning about how much they ate!)
Our regular show and tell line was short this month...

Kathi Everett's stocking for her online group.
There's a better picture of this at Kathi's blog!
This bag made with duct tape and a t-shirt will also go to Kathi's secret sister
This was made with felt Mary Lee gave her

Tracy made this for Kathi using an antique quilt.
Tracy Jachimowicz enjoyed making stockings, so she made an extra!

Tracy made this for the Silent auction. (hint, hint!)

Carol McNally made raggy quilts as gifts for a friend's children.

Also by Carol McNally

Martha made some of her Xcentric blocks into a tote bag.

Before the brown bag challenge pieces were revealed, members were shown the items that had been in each bag

Mary Ellen Casey found a Caroler singing "Fa La La!" in her bag.

Melanie made a brown bag!

the rubber bit ended up as a pocket on the back

Mary Anne Watson represented the last nice day before winter.

Chris Kuehl was inspired by the blue fabric of her tie to make a bluebird

Mary Lu Hodgins envisioned an evening out with "Shall we Dance?"!

Emmy Hartwick's sweet little house is sold!

JoAnn Flynt brown bag had a pumpkin inside

Pat Keller added a dishtowel and made a little tote bag.

November was an inspirational meeting!

November's meeting left me wanting to go home and sew this month.  We had a GREAT show and tell.  The line went on and on.  I wonder why so many people have finished projects all of a sudden?
( Many thanks to the ladies on stage!)
Susan Rathbun tried ice dyeing!

This luscious "braid" quilt was made with some of Susan's hand dyed fabrics!
Anne Renica has been hard at work making charity quilts again
Ann Renica

Chris Kuehl discovered how much fun all those fancy stitches on her machine can be!

Tracy Jachimowicz proudly stated this penny rug is for her!

Ethyl Sojda has been making quilts for the men in her world.  This one is for her son.

Ethyls' neighbor is getting this one as a thank you for all the fresh produce he gave her. Makes you want to live next door, doesn't it?

Lori Sass made this in a class with Janet Root

Linda Prouty made a miniature version of the "Labyrinth" quilt she made as a pillow sham.

Donna Tomski's favorite quilt!

Donna made this mystery quilt at Mt Pleasant

Donna also made some notebook covers

Ruth Bowen made a two sided patriotic quilt

Ruth Bowen side 2
Ruth Bowen also made this lovely stained glass window Christmas quilt
Mary Ellen Ames was reminded of something she heard Mary Ellen Hopkins say  after piecing these quilts, to be a gift for her grand son:  "Not everything you make will be entered into a show"
Using a "Make it Simpler" pattern, you get 2 quilts!

Alice Gorom- finally has a quilt on her own bed
A member who is only able to visit on vacations when the holidays and Guild meetings coincide!  Aren't we happy she brought some quilts along to show us?
Alice is giving this one to her brother and sister-in-law

No one believed this scarf was SO easy to make!

Elaine finished her portrait quilt from the September class!

Same daughters, different day.  Each will get one of these for Christmas.

Elaine found a tutorial online to make this bag from a fat quarter

Martha has been knitting tiny snowmen...

...And making fabric snowflakes (not to mention funny faces!)
Martha also unveiled the top for the quilt the guild will be raffling at next year's quilt show.  It needs a good name.  What do you think?
There are four colors missing from the pieced border on one short side.  Can  you find them?

After catching our breath, and eating some tasty snacks, we enjoyed a trunk show from Val Schultz.

Val Schultz's grand daughter will be the lucky recipient of this quilt!

Val's grandson designed this one!

Don't forget the December meeting is the SECOND Saturday of the month.  Punch will be provided, so bring a beverage if you want something else.  Although disposable tableware will be provided, feel free to bring your own and save a tree, or a tree frog!
