Celebrating the Season

At our December meeting, as we always do, the guild celebrated the holiday season with a wonderful buffet of dishes prepared by the members.  This meeting is a chance to chat with our friends.  There isn't much time at the regular meetings for sharing, so these meetings help us maintain our connections and grow our sense of community!

Show and tell was short this month, but still inspiring.
Nancy Ellers was inspired by a table runner she saw, and layered three fabrics to create three quilt tops.  The one on the left was quilted using her new quilting machine!

Nancy couldn't pass up the snowflake and snowman buttons she saw at a quilt shop, and made this little quilt to show them off.

Mary Ellen Casey found the pattern for these Log Cabin Santas on pinterest.  They can be ornaments, bottle toppers, or even hand puppets!

Alex Hammon finished her craft bucket from last month's class.  It will be a gift for her daughter (who I don't believe reads the blog!)

Lori Anderson also finished her craft bucket, and is feeling great for finishing so quickly!

Shirley Lapp made this as a gift for her niece.  It uses motifs from a panel, and Shirley is happy she has finally mastered the holly design for free motion quilting.

Terry McGuire finally finished her "Migrating Geese" quilt.  (She said, "The geese are done migrating.")

Terry also finished this beauty using a Deb Tucker pattern.  (I missed the name, sorry)

Terry picked out a nice assortment of squares from the fabric pool at the quilt show, and cut them with her AccuCut to make this charming quilt to be donated to the Lipson Center.

Before we enjoyed the feast, Elaine Ross led the "Left-Right Game" - with the story of Christmas with the Right Family.

Everyone enjoys this game, and eagerly anticipates the inevitable moment when someone has two gifts and someone has nothing.

At the end, everyone gets to open a gift.

No white elephants in this group!

And then it was time to enjoy the delicious food, and the company of friends.

Happy Holidays to all!

Join us in January for the "Flora and Fauna challenge reveal, and a program on Modern quilts from John Kubiniec.  Guests are always welcome!
