Picnic time

We were a smaller than usual group for the July meeting and picnic, but those who came all enjoyed themselves.

(With the possible exception of Tracy Jachimowicz, who filled in for president Ann Renica this month)

Several members took up Martha's challenge to decorate their table!

Lori and Beth had a festive "island" theme

Martha brought a few things to brighten up her table.
Alex brought a nice assortment of placemats and other fun goodies.
Mary Ellen used her piece from show and tell as a decoration

Speaking of show and tell...

Kathi Everett shared her "Piece of the Universe" entry from the Genesee Valley quilt show challenge.

Martha Lorshbaugh crocheted a cool little dragon for her grandson

Here is Mary Ellen's centerpiece.  It was made in part using a technique to transfer sharpie markers to fabric

Dodie Morrison made this very pretty quilt as a graduation gift for her granddaughter- and was very proud to have it finished a full four hours before the party.

Mary Kozub's husband decided it was his turn to have a portrait quilt.  This is the two of them in 1985, at their college graduation.

Elaine Ross used an editing app on this picture of her granddaughter from the play "Hello Dolly", and had Julie Brandon print it for her.

Barb Brady finished another little Kim Diehl pattern

Barb also finished the snow man runner she has worked on at retreat for a couple of years.

Barb is enjoying making wool pincushions.  (sorry it's blurry- people don't hold things still for very long)

Lori Anderson wanted us to see the heart pillows from the pattern provided in the last newsletter, for ladies undergoing breast cancer surgery and treatment.

Melanie Watson finally got her wool felt class project into a frame.

Donna Tomski put together a couple of community service quilt tops (above and below).

It was suggested that we make our next "eatin' meetin'" a brunch, since we usually end up eating way before lunch time.   Post a comment to let us know if that sounds good- or to give a menu suggestion.
