The banner above is a teaser for the raffle quilt, which we finally got to oooh and ahhh over in person at the May meeting!! It's pretty amazing!!
Also amazing is the work of our talented members...
We welcomed back longtime member, Lorraine West. Her sweet, vintage looking quilts haven't changed a bit on the years she's been away. (above and below)
Lorraine calls this one Rails around the world.
Nancy Ellers reacquainted herself with the "10-minute" block recently. This one starts with 10 inch squares to make a small lap topper.
And this one started with smaller (6 or 8 inch) blocks
Nancy Mitchell cleaned her sewing room, and found some projects to finish, including this one from the beginners classes.
Kathy Belluscio will be giving this as a gift, but not until after it hangs in the October Quilt Show!!
PS- it's hand quilted!
Carolyn Stegman picked this pretty bit up at the fabric sale, gave it some fresh quilting and a new binding.
Carol is still using up scraps from a vacation years ago, when she stumbled into the old Bighorn Quilts store (which was HUGE). This sweet baby quilt will be donated to a group called "newborns in need"
Liz Scott made this cute "Warm Wishes" from a kit she probably cut on Community Service day!
TA-DAAA!! The raffle quilt. Tickets were handed out at the May meeting. Contact Ann Renica if you didn't get yours.
(If it looks slightly askew, the best picture I got was when they were holding it sideways!)
Claudia from The Quilter's Daughter joined us to share a few of her projects, and the techniques she uses to make the cute little apron she wears when she's vending at shows. Elaine is hoping we'll all make one to wear at the quilt show in October. If you didn't get a piece of fabric from the donation stash, contact Elaine or Deb Vosburg. The pattern can be found below.
But- did I think to get a nice picture of the apron??? Of course not. (sorry)
This is one of the few large pieces Claudia has made.

Mostly Claudia likes to find ways to use her "mini charm packs"- 2 1/2" squares. That cute box on the table is a tea box- her mini charms fit perfectly inside!
In June we'll be enjoying demos from our own members. I don't think they had it settled for sure yet, so it's going to be a fun surprise!
