August UFO reveal

There was a LOT to do at the August meeting!

Show and tell is always a high point of the meeting!

"Forsaken", by Kathi Everett
If you went on retreat, you may have seen Kathi playing with her hand dyed fabrics and somewhat random piecing of crosses. A sudden bit of inspiration struck Kathi in the middle of the night, and here is how she finished that piece.

Nancy Ellers got out her knitting machine and made some preemie caps, just to get back into the swing of how it works.

Lorraine West's 2013 row by row quilt.

Lorraine added some thread painting to this quilt interpreting a picture from Pebble Beach, CA

Elaine Ros joined members of a group of RAFA members who interpreted the work of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Elaine found the perfect button for this piece at Patricia's.

Lori Anderson is really enjoying the landscape technique she learned in a class with Karen Eckmeier.

Lori used the landscape technique to give her "Creative Girl", a place to "seek the Elusive"

Connie Grimsley hand pieced hexies into a little bowl ion a road trip.

Connie was just finishing up this turtle wallhanging

Kay Lennon brought in baby quilts made my member Liz Scott, who was donating them for community service.

Liz Wagner allowed her grandson to choose the pattern for his dorm quilt.  She had never worked with Diamonds before.

After the break, where we all signed up for jobs at the quilt show ( many spots are still available- watch your newsletter for the list), we got a preview of the quilt show when members revealed their completed UFO's.

Cathy Judkins

Cheryl Doody

Alex Hammon, a silent auction donation

MaryAnne Watson- one of the projects we helped get "unstuck"

There will be quite a few of the row robin quilts in the show.  They are all lovely- and all so different!

Chris was a bit surprised there weren't more finished objects.  I know I have one more to finish for the show, but it wasn't ready for this meeting.  How about the rest of you???

Speaking of the quilts we're showing, do you need labels for your quilts, but didn't print after registering online??  Well, never fear- the form is right here!!
