A Merry May day

On a gorgeous spring day- where I fear many of us were antsy to be outside as soon as the meeting ended- we enjoyed the usual display of talent on display by our members.

Nancy Ellers is on a mission to finish up some UFOs (aren't we all?)

A donation quilt Nancy made with donated fabrics

Nancy used fine corduroy donated to her for this one.
Vinne Thjung shared a couple of the community service quilts turned in today.

Eula Serrino made this for her great niece, titled "Hannah Gets the Blues"

Nancy Schraeder made some pillows as gifts.
This is for a friend expecting twins, so there's two wagons

Nancy used some of her newly acquired free motion quilting skills on this.

Dodie Morrison's oldest grandson is getting married soon.  She had just gotten this back from member Cathy Schmeider, who did the quilting.

Mary Ellen Casey bought the pattern for this at one of our meetings some time ago.  It's for her granddaughter, who is off to college!

Mary Anne Watson finished her pincushion from the class earlier this year.

Bonnie Reigle finished her wool felt appliqué, but didn't want a pincushion, so she framed it.

Connie Grimsley is continuing her tradition of making pillows for the students in her class each year.  This year she made initials, and used novelty fabrics on the backs in an effort to use up some of her stash.

Jennifer Grimsley decided to make the sashiko pieces she did into pillows

Mary Kozub won a pattern at last month's meeting, and made this small quilt as a table topper, then passed the pattern on to another member.

Then members were treated to a nice demonstration of Nancy Wilson's "Whirlwind Whiz" technique and a trunk show of some of the projects she's made with it.

In June Ina Randall will visit and show us some embellishment techniques.  (I'm sad I won't be there to enjoy it)
