And what is so rare as a day in June?*

The June meeting was a treat for all!

 First there was Show and Tell-

 Martha Lorshbaugh made this for a wedding gift.
 (Sadly, Cathy Schmeider's awesome quilting doesn't show in this picture)

 Mary Kozub brought one of the bits she made after a class with Maria Shell

 Mary bought some stamps and fabric paints at the Genesee Valley show , and had fun playing with them.

 Alex Hammon showed this painting Kevin did on fabric.  I forget what kind of bird it is.

 Liz Wagner showed off this wedding gift- for the same day as the meeting- made from a kit she got at the Genesee Valley show.

 Nancy Schrader made a companion for her earlier portrait , Susan.  This one is based photos of both  on her father and father-in-law, and is titled, "Honor".

Connie Grimsley makes pillows for each student in her class every year.  (So far, she has done 148!)
Here are a few of the ones for this year's class.  Each child chose a themed fabric Connie used in their pillow.

 

Eileen Sorochty tried out silk fusion at a RAFA meeting, and then added thread painting, felting and a couple of other techniques to make this amazing piece!

Our guest speaker for the day was Pam Pandolfi, of Amherst. 

 Pam has had several quilts accepted into AQS shows and recently taught classes at the AQS Paducah "Quilt Week".  Using a combination of appliqué and painting, she creates amazing portraits and scenes!

 Made for a QCNYS challenge- depicting seasons ans scenes in New York State.

 I missed the name of this one, which started her career as a national teacher!

In July we'll enjoy our annual summer picnic brunch.  Bring your own table setting and a dish to pass.  There will also be a game, for those who wish to play:

"Whodunnit?"

 Bring a small quilt the members may not have seen lately- or ever.  We'll display them and members will be given time to guess who made each one.  Prizes for the quilts with the most correct and least correct guesses.
