Winter is the time for sewing!

Based on the wonderful show and tell at the February meeting, the storms we have been getting sent the members of the guild right into their sewing rooms!  It was the perfect way to brighten up a dull day and chase away the winter blues

Terry McGuire added the motifs to this bag using a product she found at Tractor Supply.

Terry finally finished the piecing on this Bonnie Hunter design- over 3,000 pieces!

Nancy Ellers finished her project from the John Kubiniec class last month.    She had so much fun with the technique (and leftovers from each project)...

...This one's called Leftover Pie

And this one is called ducks on a pond

While visiting her aunt, Nancy admired this little not-quite-finished quilt.  It turned out to be a late Christmas gift. 

Jean BUtzer had just gotten this back from member and longarm quilter, Cathy Schmeider, so we got to enjoy it!  Jean previously made a miniature of this pattern.

Donna Sofokles wasn't able to present her challenge quilt at the January meeting.  It's called Flora and an old crow.

New member Pat Farman was also unable to make it in January.  Her challenge was made from old fabric samples,  (I'm not sure it had a name)

Gloria Crittenden made this hexie quilt as a gift for an accountant friend who just got a larger office.

Elaine Ross made this 6 x 6 as a donation for the Rochester Contemporary Art Center's annual 6 x 6 sale. 

Eaine made this self portrait for a challenge themed "the Eyes are the Window to the Soul"

Mary Ellen Casey also finished her runner from the John Kubiniec class.  (I was going to group them together, but was afraid I'd forget who's was whose)

Mary Kozub finished her cat collage, Purrfect, designed by Laura Heine

Lori Sass made this very sweet little quilt for her new grand baby.

Carol McNally and Donna Tomski showed an assortment of quilt tops, to be donated to community service; made with the technique Carol shared in November

Susie Spicer loves the free table, because she finds fun things she can finish up easily, like the blocks in this runner,

And possibly the fabrics for this small quilt,

and this oversized log cabin block quilt. 

New member Laurie Kilbury Taylor did some great quilting on this Winne the Pooh panel using glow in the dark thread.

Laurie made this apple core quilt for a friend.

Elaine Lemley's runner from last month's class.

Elaine's granddaughter (I think) had very specific parameters for her snuggle quilt.  She was very happy with this one- which also used glow in the dark thread.

                                Sandy Shufelt says she's late with these, but I say she's early!

Sandy's husband picked out another project for her when they visited the quilt shop.  (I wish the picture was better- it's beautiful!)

We got our first look at what will be the raffle quilt for our 2020 quilt show.  All you "hexie" lovers- let Jennifer Grimsley know you're available!  Kits will be ready next month.

 I wouldn't have wanted to follow that, but all enjoyed Gretchen Pittma's presentation on making barn quilts, which she also sells through her sister's shop- the Quilter's Daughter in Perry Center, NY
